Valentine's Day 2015

Valentine's Day 2015

Valentine's Day is here again, where everything about love is celebrated.

This year, instead of the usual profferings of chocolates, flowers and perfume for your loved one, why not take a leaf out of Charles M Schulz's books?

The Peanuts Guide to Love (or kiss her, you blockhead!) is full of witticisms about love, from the famous Peanuts gang, including loveable Snoopy, the beagle.

Lucky Snoopy received a love letter and Charlie Brown said, "How do you know it's a love letter?"
Snoopy: "The mailbox felt warm!"

The Peanuts Guide to Happiness (or to dance is to live!) is just as delightful.

Try this exchange between Lucy and Schroeder.

Lucy: "Happy Beethoven's birthday! I brought you a little present."

Schroeder:"Well, thank you ...just what I've always wanted.

"Elton John glasses!"

You'll smile or laugh out loud with every page and it is the ideal size to read in the train or bus, to keep in the glove box of the car, in your pocket or handbag.

The Peanuts Guide to Love and The Peanuts Guide to Happiness by Charles M Schulz is published by Allen and Unwin Canongate. RRP A$14.99 each.
