2022 Spanish film festival competition

Spanish film festival competition
Hola amigos!

The 2022 Moro Spanish Film Festival presented by Palace cinemas returns with a curated selection of films from Spain, Latin America and beyond.

The films below are our first sneak peek into the programme which will screen at Palace Cinemas in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Byron Bay, starting on April 19 in Sydney.

Films include Official Competition (Competencia Oficial), starring Antonio Banderas and Penélope Cruz with Oscar Martínez in a bitingly funny behind-the-scenes satire of filmmaking, in which a wealthy businessman hires a neurotic director to produce a brilliant art film.

Our Voices (Nuestras Voces), is a powerful documentary on the strength and resilience of Spanish-speaking immigrants, who arrived in Victoria between the 1960s and1980s and their contribution to modern Australia.

The Daughter (La Hija) is a cleverly constructed dramatic thriller by one of Spain's most intriguing auteurs, Manuel Martín Cuenca.

Forgotten We'll Be (El Olvido Que Seremos) is an adaptation of Héctor Abad Faciolince’s memoir about his father, Colombian professor and campaigner Héctor Abad Gómez.

Language Lessons stars Natalie Morales and Mark Duplass in this charming and award-winning comedy about a Spanish teacher and her student, whose online connection takes on far more importance than either could have anticipated.
